The Best Rugs for Sale

On top of our large selection of rugs for sale, we also offer a variety of useful services including rug cleaning, rug repair, pet odor removal, appraisal, and interior design. Our expert rug cleaning process removes soil, restores luster, and will extend the longevity of your rug. We first inspect your rug to see what condition it is in. If it has been a long time since it was last cleaned, we will beat it to remove dust and dirt. Next, we wet the rug with water to loosen soil particles inside. Soft brushes and brooms are then used with a gentle soap and water solution to clean the rug. After we rinse the rug we apply a solution of white vinegar. Now all that’s left is for you to pick up your rug and take it home. While you’re in our store, we recommend getting your rug appraised. Most experts recommend having this done at least every three years.

What to look for in a Moroccan Rug

The original Moroccan rugs were woven without the intent to sell them. They were designed to be practical and were often made on a whim. As time has gone on and they have become so popular, very few new Moroccan rugs are made. Now they are mostly mass-produced and made to look older. These new rugs are washed, chemically aged, sun-faded, and kept in small piles to make them look worn and scarce. The Berber people who made the original rugs were a nomadic people who traveled across the Atlas Mountains and made their rugs out of wool. These were passion projects and a source of pride for the makers. Now though, as life has modernized these people are no longer nomadic and live in towns and cities. As such, the people stopped making everything for themselves like they once needed to. When buying a Moroccan rug, it is important to know it’s history. If you’re able to trace back to what tribe it came from and who made it, you’re much more likely to be in possession of a real one. We can also look at how it was woven as a handwoven rug has details that aren’t present in factory-made ones.
